AlarmClock Features ========================================================================= o FREE. o LOUD, the loudest sound ever from your Newton with AlarmClock! o Large Stop and Snooze buttons. You won't have to hunt and peck for the Stop and Snooze buttons any longer. o Auto Wakeup. Turn off your Newton and the alarm will still go off at the appropriate time! o Auto Shutoff. If the alarm goes off and you are not there, AlarmClock! will shut itself off after a user-configurable delay. You do not have to worry about draining your precious battery! o Adjustable Snooze Delay. Like to snooze for longer than 10 minutes? Shorter? AlarmClock! puts the power to control your snoozing in your hands. o Recurring Alarm. AlarmClock! can optionally reset itself 24 hours ahead after you click on the stop button. o Power Switch. The Newton's power switch acts as a stop or snooze button. o Extras Icon. The Extras icons changes to reflect whether an alarm has been set or not. System Requirements ========================================================================= AlarmClock requires Newton OS 2.x and 27K of storage space. Users with 1.x Newtons should use instead to version 1.3 of AlarmClock. Installing AlarmClock ========================================================================= AlarmClock is installed like any Newton package, using the Newton Backup Utility (NBU), the Newton Connection Utilities (NCU), or any third-party package downloading utility. Setting an Alarm ========================================================================= o Digital Clock View: Tap on the view labelled, "Alarm: xx:xx am/pm" and a digital set clock view will appear. Change the time and close the digital set clock view to save your changes. o Analog Clock View: Tap and drag the hour and minute hands to adjust the alarm time. Turning on the Alarm ========================================================================= Simply tap on the alarmToggle button (to the right of the analog clock view). When the alarm is on, the button will be highlighted and labelled, "ON." When there is no alarm set, the button will be labelled, "OFF" and will not be highlighted. Setting Preferences ========================================================================= 1 Tap the Information button. 2 In the list that appears, tap Prefs. The AlarmClock Preferences slip appears. You may configure the following options for AlarmClock: o Alarm Sound: Set the sound that AlarmClock will use. o Alarm Volume: Set the volume that AlarmClock will use. o Ring Delay: Set the delay between rings. o Snooze: Set the snooze time. o Auto Shutoff: Set the time after which AlarmClock will turn off. o Power Switch: Set the power switch to stop or snooze AlarmClock. o Daily Alarm: Set the next alarm 24 hours in the future after stopping. o Backlight Off When Ringing: Turn off the backlight when ringing. Known Bugs ========================================================================= o In 24-hour mode, the am/pm radio buttons may not display properly. o Setting the alarm time using the analog clock may not properly update the am/pm radio buttons. o Closing the alarm view using an external keyboard causes an error.
